TikTok star Charli D'Amelio has been on the receiving end of backlash after she and her family uploaded a "disastrous" YouTube video last week.
And now, things have gotten even worse as trolls on the internet have resorted to sending her death threats, making her reach the point where she's had to address the issue via an emotional video...
Charli D'Amelio has had the most terrible week...
Last Monday, the TikTok star and her family posted a "Dinner With the D'Amelios" video...
However, it didn't go down very well...
Now, for those who don't know, Charli is a social media star and dancer.
As it stands, she is the most-followed person on TikTok...
The entire family now has a joint YouTube channel called "The D'Amelio Family."
The family has just launched a series called "Dinner with the D'Amelios", in which the family are joined for dinner by a mystery guest every week...And to kick off the series, beauty influencer James Charles joined the family for a very luxurious dinner that was provided by a personal chef.
The dinner seemed to be going swimmingly...But it didn't take long for viewers to notice a few little things.
One of the main problems appeared to be comments made by Charli and Dixie to the personal chef about his food...At one point, Dixie even ran away to throw up after trying a snail. It was all very dramatic, might I add.
Many were also quick to point out that Charli and Dixie's parents didn't pull them up on their comments...And that it was instead James Charles calling them out.
Things only went from bad to worse...At one point Charli complained about not reaching 100 million followers on TikTok in less than a year, despite being the most followed person on the platform.
Fans exploded in the comments, branding her as "ungrateful" and "immature.""Ugh, I wish I had more time," Charli said while discussing the family's successful year. "'Cos imagine if I hit 100 mil a year after hitting a mil." James responded: "Was the 95 [million] not enough for you?"
However, some people defended her saying that this behavior was normal considering she was just a teenager. They don't like certain foods and complain about little things. Others even suggested that there are people out there that actually deserve to be "canceled" for their behavior and people should focus on them instead.
Regardless, the remarks have had a disastrous impact on her follower count...

In the emotional video, she explains how the words have impacted her.“All of this is happening because [of] a misunderstanding. I just feel like that’s not OK, and if this is the community that I’m in and the community that I put myself in, I don’t know if I wanna do that anymore."
She highlighted the importance of social media trolling.“I know that this is gonna be a huge joke to whoever sees it, but like, at the end of the day, just, like, be nice," she continued, referencing death threats she has received. “I feel like it’s not that hard, and you can say whatever. You can say I’m disrespectful, you can say I don’t have basic human decency, but at the end of the day, I’m still a person."
Later on, she clarified that she doesn't want her followers to think she "doesn't care."This is in reference to the fact that she was "complaining" about not reaching the 100 million follower mark as some people accused her of only thinking of them as a number and not people.
The news comes after Dixie defended herself the day before.
James Charles, who was present at the time, also defended the sisters.
